Gateway controls for autonomous software
As agents become more capable, they need controlled paths to services, data, tools, and eventually economic activity.
Autonomy needs boundaries
Useful agents will not live inside one app. They will call tools, request data, trigger workflows, and coordinate with other software. That creates a boundary problem: who can do what, under which policy, with which audit trail?
A gateway is the place where those boundaries can become explicit.
The gateway direction
Palanthos is researching gateway controls for routing, policy enforcement, authentication boundaries, observability, and controlled access. This is not a public payment product in Q2, and it is not a live x402 merchant flow.
The first public step is to explain the model clearly and invite the right builders into the conversation.
